Whether your child is applying to college, a part-time job, or a summer internship, they’re going to need a resume. And creating one from scratch can be quite daunting.
But no need to fear – I’ve got the perfect tool to help.
Rather than wasting time formatting and designing a resume to get the perfect look, ResumeGem uses a fill-in-the-blank style template. Your child can simply input all of their experience, activities, education info, and more, and it will automatically populate the information into the perfect formatted resume.
I only wish this resource had been around when I was applying to colleges. My resume was certainly not as polished as it would have been with this tool.
What is ResumeGem? ResumeGem is a start-up based in New Haven (home of Yale University), and was started by (and comprised mostly of)…you guessed it…Yale graduates. The founders originally worked in talent acquisition, and were disappointed by the lack of free resume building and career planning products. They felt that resume tools in Microsoft Word were antiquated and difficult to use. I can attest to this as well. So they built a new product themselves! It’s so easy to use, and will give you a resume that looks similar to those of ivy-league caliber job applicants.
Try it out and let me know what you think! I know it will be super helpful on your child’s college journey.
